What Makes Us Unique

2.1

History of DDE

Beginning in 1991, DDE was formed in Manchester by three BMS leading engineers from Trend Controls contracting team. Thirty years ago, the demand for our unique engineering expertise was increasing with the popularity of new generation of BMS. This computer processor technology was identified as a way to keep buildings comfortable and efficient, and was being specified to replace conventional controls systems in the UK. Simon, Dave and Jon, the three owners of DDE, who remain within the business to this day, have developed the company and its employees and systems to retain the whole system focus, to ensure quality and reliability for customers new and old.
 

Over the past thirty years, DDE have grown organically from a team of five in 1991, to a team of fifty in 2020. The vast majority of our current staff are field engineers, located strategically across the UK to serve customers efficiently and economically. Having provided thousands of new installations throughout the company’s history, a major focus in service and maintenance over the past ten years has enabled more and more customers to benefit from our experience.

DDE believe passionately in the engineers of the future, and have given opportunities to many young local people, some of whom are still with the company almost twenty years later. Each year DDE endeavour to take at least one engineer into the company to ensure the ethos of quality and reliability is passed on. With the rapid development of IoT products and solutions, the mix of experience and innovation is the perfect balance to keep DDE the preferred choice of building controls specialist for so many organisations, not only today but for years to come.

Whether its collaborating to work to a tight programme, or simply offering to repair an item instead of replacing it, DDE will always find the best solution for the customer and our customer and staff retention rates are unmatched, this can only happen when our values and motivations are aligned with our customer.

2.2

Charity work

Support for local and national charities has always been part of life at DDE,  with regular organised events within the organisation, as well as supporting our people and partners where personal accomplishments and the sacrifices that go with that work toward helping others.
